Ingredients
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes, or more to taste
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1/4 tsp sesame seeds
- Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions
- Whisk brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and ginger in a small bowl.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.
- Add garlic and cook, stirring, about 1 minute.
- Add ground beef. Cook 3-5 minutes, breaking it up, until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the soy sauce mixture and green onions.
- Simmer until heated through, about 2 minutes.
- Serve over rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and extra green onion.
Notes
- Fast weeknight ground beef bowl. Sweet, salty, spicy.
- Use reduced sodium soy sauce or it can get too salty.
- Good with steamed rice, cucumber, kimchi, or a fried egg.
